Fincons Group CEO
Michele wouldn’t describe himself as the ‘ideal’ entrepreneur, nor is that his aspiration.
In fact, he does not even aim to maximize short-term returns and does not make rationality the sole driver of his work, and yet, he’s been ringing in success after success for the past 40 years. He is a believer in traditional values, in the deepest meaning of the word roots and saw in his alma mater, the Polytechnic University of Bari, strong potential for the Group.
Michele believes in the importance of family, which drove him to increasingly involve his son Francesco in the business, where he is today Deputy CEO. He also believes in the added-value that interpersonal relationships with clients can bring and in being passionate about his work – a passion that he transmits to his managers and staff. Michele is visionary, forward-looking in decisions, subtle in thought and pragmatic in solving first-hand any issues that may arise in an organization intentionally designed to be horizontal. Michele’s flair for business has always been recognized by his colleagues and clients.
Our new offices in New York and Los Angeles further confirm our drive to position ourselves internationally. We are excited to be exporting our consolidated know-how entering a market with rapid adoption of OTT and multi-screen technology.
An engineer born in Bari, a rendezvous-point and cultural exchange centre for Mediterranean countries and a crossroads with northern Europe, Michele combines the more humane and transparent qualities of southern Europe, with the typically analytical and pragmatic talents of successful entrepreneurs from the North. On terminating his studies in 1977, he began his professional career at Bolzano Steelworks, controlled by Falck Group, and then moved to Milan, as a junior programmer. In less than a decade, he was to rise to the rank of Organizational Manager, building an excellent reputation along the way, as well as developing critical skills for tackling new challenges which, in turn, would inspire him to leave the steel market, which was flagging. In 1987 he joined Consòr, a software house based in Milan, as Commercial Director, where he reached numerous key objectives: staff numbers rose from 12 to 200 in the very first years of his activity and new premises were opened across Italy. The step from being a top executive to becoming an entrepreneur was short and natural; he acquired shares in the company which thus became the first to component of today’s Fincons Group, of which he is currently CEO.
In 1994 the Group’s views, whose headquarters are in Bern, definitely expanded from the national to the international, with the opening of the first office in Switzerland, in Lugano, to be followed in due course by the two other Swiss branches (Bern and Zurich). In 2016, after having consolidated the business and its positioning in continental Europe, the Group was ready to expand its presence in the United Kingdom with a branch in London and, in the following year, in the United States (New York and Los Angeles), thereby competing in increasingly competitive and cutting-edge markets.
As a result, under Michele’s steer, Fincons Group has today become an established and recognized multinational in the field of IT, with over 1,200 professionals, 11 offices and numerous major clients in various business sectors.
